You start off buying a Tier 1 pet from pet shops in Whitestorm or Haven. Options are dog, cat, bird, or chimp. They are all pretty much the same. A pet can only be leveled up to whatever level you are. 

XP'ing a pet: To get your pet to level up you have two options 1. You can "train pet 'x'" amount. The cost is what is shown on the chart below. 2. You can have your pet land the killing blow and the amount of xp they need is 10x less than what is shown on the chart below. To get them to land the blow you can charge/backstab and sit while they do the rest of the damage or if you are a mage flash will lay you out on the ground without the ability to make the killing blow. Just play around with it until you find something that works for your subclass.

Pet Abilities: Claw (~10 min apart), Rush, Pummel, Rage, Berserk, Entertain Evilly (Tier 2 pets)

Tier 2 Pets: You can trade in a fully grown Tier 1 pet at the pet shop for a Tier 2 pet. Your options are bear or snake. THe cost to level up Tier 2 pets is twice as much as Tier 1 but they are significantly stronger than Tier 1 pets and get more hits. 

Tier 1 (full grown): 1760/1760 hp, 1250/1250 sp, 0/0 mp  

Tier 2 (full grown): 2270/2270 hp,1750/1750 sp, 0/0 mp
